"SONIA'S TASTY SIMPLE SPONGE CAKE"

If you want 'quick', 'simple' and 'tasty' look no further than the latest dessert added to 'The Decadent Diva'. Today's feature recipe comes to us from my best friend 'Sonia'. And so this delightful little gem of a recipe is appropriately called 'Sonia's Tasty Simple Sponge Cake'!

She was kind enough to share it with all of us and I'd like to thank her for that. However, there is a secret to making this recipe a success. It's all in the way the ingredients are added. Some prefer to place all the contents in a bowl and simply mix. "Not so," says Sonia. Follow her step-by-step instructions below and you'll have a superb sponge cake that will have em' craving more! Enjoy!

"SONIA'S TASTY SIMPLE SPONGE CAKE"

Ingredients:
4 large eggs
8 oz. granulated sugar
4 oz. milk
4 oz. vegetable (or corn) oil
4 tsp. baking powder
16 oz. flour

Directions:
Beat 4 eggs, add milk and oil, add sugar, add baking powder, and last, add flour. Mix well. Grate a lemon (or orange) and squeeze juices (of either) in for taste. Do not add a lot of the rind or the mixture will take more of the taste of the lemon (or orange).

Preheat oven at 350F. Lightly grease cake pan. Place pan in oven for 25-30 minutes, but don't forget to keep an eye on it. When finished baking, take out of the oven and let cool. Turn cake over on a wire rack. Place on dish, then sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
